What is the success rate for IUI? 

The pregnancy rate for IUI with Clomiphene Citrate is approximately 13%.

What is an OPK?

An OPK is an ovulation predictor kit and it is used to detect the LH surge in the menstrual cycle.

What is the best ovulation predictor kit to use?

There are four (4) kits that the clinic recommends for use with fertility medications. The kits are First Response, OvuQuick, Conceive and Clear Blue. The OPK's may be purchased through the clinic pharmacy or your local pharmacy.

How many IUI's can I do consecutively?

Generally the physician will order three (3) cycles of IUI consecutively. If pregnancy doesn't occur a follow up visit will be required to re-evaluate the treatment plan.

Do I need to use Clomiphene Citrate with IUI?

It is strongly recommended that women take Clomiphene (Clomid) when doing IUI as it will significantly increase the chances of success.

Is the procedure painful?

The IUI is relatively painless procedure. It is similar to having a PAP test done.

Are there restrictions to my activity following IUI?

No, after the IUI has been performed normal activities may resume.

What is the cost for IUI?

The cost for an IUI is $325.00 when using sperm from the male partner. This is divided into a non-refundable $75 setup fee and $250 procedure fee. If donor sperm is required, additional fees will be incurred.

Is IUI available to same sex couples or single women?

IUI treatment is available to same sex female couples as well as single women by using donor sperm. Additional fees and consultations are required when using donor sperm.
