Today was Family Day here in Alberta. The LAST one I will spend as a family of one! I spent the day sewing and then going for dinner at a friend's house. I am SO tired these days. Even when I get plenty of sleep, I'm still exhausted. Sometimes I'm exhausted by doing absoulutely NOTHING!
Apparently, this is what I can expect for the next few months. Blah.
Baby is doing great! My doctor phoned me the other day (I have never had a doctor phone before, so I was thinking the worst), to let me know my latest test results. I passed my glucose screening test with flying colours, my iron is fine, and I've never had toxoplasmosis. This means I'm NOT immune to toxoplasmosis and need to continue the precautions I've already been taking with changing the cat litter. I was kinda hoping that I had already had it, since I grew up with outdoor cats, but no such luck. The good thing about that, is that I must be a fairly clean person to have not got it all these years, so my chances of getting it in the next few months (while wearing gloves and a mask) are pretty slim.
I made a crib sheet! I've been wanting to do it for weeks now. I studied this website, bought some cute fabric at Fabricland, and finally gave it a shot. I messed up several times (just my own stupidity), but it still worked out! I have it on the mattress right now. I'll post pictures when I get the energy to take them off the camera. Was it cheaper to make my own sheet? Probably not, even though the fabric was 50% off, but I'm still proud of my work and looking forward to making more. With the left-over scraps I think I'll make a little stuffed animal or a lovie blankie.
My best work friend is planning a work-friends shower for me, and my sister and best friend are planning an 'everyone else' shower, too! Is it wrong of me to be rediculously excited about these showers??? I think it's because I've never been married, so I missed out on the bridal shower fun.
Must get to bed now. I was ready to go to sleep at about 6:45 tonight.
Enjoy your showers...as single gals, we deserve them!! I was hesitant about having one but like you said, we miss out on the bridal shower, we deserve it! Plus, like my brother says, we're doing this on our own so deserve to be showered with gifts.
ReplyDeleteGet use to being tired, I don't remember the last time I felt rested, lol!!
I'm delurking. Hi!
ReplyDeleteI second Tiara! Enjoy the showers.
I have to say that I'm a little worried about the toxiplasmosis as well. I've already started taking precautions to get into the habit but you never know.
I don't think it's wrong at all!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for mine, too!
Drink it up and soak in all the attention... apparently it will all be diverted once the precious bundle arrives. :)
Seriously, enjoy every moment. OF COURSE you deserve it.
